The First UK Pavilion at the Western International Trade Fair (21/10/2009)
UK Trade and Investment Team (UKTI) at the British Consulate-General Chongqing have organised the first UK Pavilion at the Western International Trade Fair in Chengdu (16-19 Oct). The theme of the pavilion is Climate Change and Environment. 8 UK companies/organisations including Avis, Noble House, GDC, Sweet Trips, Tianhai, Climate Change team, East Midlands Development Agency and International Business Wales have exhibited at the Pavilion. Barry Lowen, the Director of International Group of UKTI participated in the opening ceremony and ministerial forum. 3 British business delegations from the UK including East Midlands delegation, agricultural delegation and another cross-sector delegation visited the trade fair and participated in various events during the fair. The UK Pavilion has successfully demonstrated the achievements we have made with the Chinese counterparts on climate change and low carbon economy, as well as the long-term commitment of UK business to investing in China’s social development plans that benefit the world.
