LE3 China Coordination Officer - Inward Investment Team
The British Consulate-General Shanghai invites applications for the position of LE3 China Co-ordination Officer in the Consulate’s Trade & Investment Section. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious flexible and enthusiastic individual. The main purpose of this job is to assist UK Trade & Investment’s Head of Inward Investment for China, based in Shanghai but covering teams in Beijing, Chongqing and Guangzhou.
Main Duties
- Co-ordinating the promotional activity of the four teams and delivery of business plan targets;
- Collation and presentation of quarterly business returns to UK Trade & Investment HQ.
- Collating and sharing of reports and target data with UK Trade & Investment partner organisations in the UK’s 12 Regional Development Agencies and Devolved Administrations (R/Das);
- Some analysis of this data;
- Arranging meetings for all China Team Members and R/DA partners twice a year;
- Providing admin support to Head of Inward Investment, China Teams;
- Working with Eastern China’s leading companies in creative industry, through participating in meeting and client presentations, desk research and supporting promotional events such as seminars, reception.
Competences and Personal Qualities - candidates must demonstrate the following abilities:
- Be familiar user of various IT packages including spreadsheet and databases;
- Be well organised;
- To establish good working relations with members of the 4 Inward Investment China teams and the 12 R/Das;
- To quickly understand the business of Inward Investment Team and why the co-ordination of effort and sharing of information is import;
- Understand / focus on customer needs, identify opportunities for UK companies.
- Show the potential to build relationships with and understand the business needs of astern China’s leading companies.
- Native Mandarin speaker, fluent in spoken and written English.
Gross starting salary will be RMB6749.70 per month. The deadline for submission of applications is close of business on Monday 23 November 2009.
