From: Birmingham, England.
Living in: Fujian, China
‘China is becoming more cosmopolitan, it is a great place to do business and a friendly place to live…GanBei!!’
From the age of eleven Scott has been practicing martial arts and had always dreamed of travelling to China to train and practice with the famous Shaolin monks. In 2003 his dream came true, Scott made his way to Jilin where he spent the next year training 5+ hours every day.
The longer Scott spent in China the more the country/culture grew on him and so at the end of his training he decided to stay in China with the hope of starting his own martial arts school in Shandong with his Shaolin master who he had trained with for the last year but sadly after working for a few months with his new Chinese partner he found that a working/business relationship was not as straightforward as a student/teacher relationship so Scott abandoned his relationship/venture and carried on living in the city thinking of ways to do business, in the mean time enjoying China and practicing martial arts.
The beginning of his 3rd year in China brought Scott to Fujian province where he lived in Xiamen for 1 year before moving further inland to a small town called Taining.
Scott leased nearly 15000 square meters of land and began building his own martial arts school which took him nearly one year to get ready for students and another 3 months of travelling China interviewing for masters to teach for him.
Scotts ‘Rising Dragon Martial Arts School’ opened in October 2007 receiving over 400 western students from all around the world in the first 3 years, his school is rapidly becoming thee place for foreigners to learn martial arts in China.
In 2010 Scott became a 4th generation disciple and Vice President of the Sun Lu Tang martial arts association, performed on live TV with Jackie Chan and has a working relationship with the Shaolin Temple.
